2nd Round
Oban Saints AFC v Cambusnethan Talbot Community AFC

Kick Off 2pm
Referee Mr Jimmy Litster

After last Saturday's Scottish Amateur Football League Premier Division defeat to reigning champions St Joseph's FP Saints begin a minimum three week break from league action with the visit of Cambusnethan Talbot in the West of Scotland Amateur Cup. Saturday's "West" tie will be followed by the September weekend break and a Scottish Amateur Cup home tie against Plains.

Following a first round bye the second round draw saw Saints paired with the Strathclyde Saturday Morning Amateur Football League wing of the successful Cambusnethan Talbot Community club who operate teams at all age groups and have two amateur teams.

This Saturday's opponents joined the Strathclyde Saturday Morning Amateur Football League in time for the start of the 2014-15 season and progressed to the 2016-17 Premier Division with successive promotions.

Unfortunately for Camby Talbot their bid to consolidate their position in the top division came up short with an eleventh place finish consigning them to relegation along with Calderglen and Semsa.

A mixed bag of results sees Talbot currently third in this season's Championship A with seven points from their opening five fixtures two points behind early pace setters Hillwood and Bridgeton Vale.

The Wishaw men will provide a stern test for a Saints side still struggling for early season form. Saturday's tie must be played to a finish on the day with extra time and penalties coming into play if the sides cannot be separated after ninety minutes.

Saints Edged Out In Five Goal Thriller

Reigning Scottish Amateur Football League Premier Division Champions St Joseph's extended their Glencruitten winning streak to four games in a five goal thriller last Saturday. Just as they had in their 4 - 2 win at William Street at the tail end of last season, Saints recovered from a two goal defecit to haul themselves back into contention however this time it was the Duntocher men who had the added desire to force the winner.

With Manager Alex Craik at a wedding Coaches Jamie Graham and Peter MacCallum and Secretary David Buchanan were in charge of team affairs. The instructions from the Gaffer were to stick closely to the previous week's winning line-up adding only the returning Scott Maitland and David McPhee. However a late call-off from Shaun MacIver meant an earlier than planned outing for recovering injury victim Paul Carmichael.

Graham Douglas lined-up in goal behind a back four of Matthew Kelly, Craig Campbell, David McPhee and Daniel Croarkin. Willie Gemmell, Keith Millar, Scott Maitland and Ally McKerracher formed a midfield diamond with Paul Carmichael and Captain Craig MacEwan in attack. On the bench Bartosz Faron, Fraser MacFarlane and David Smith were joined by returning long term injury victim Myles McAuley and new signing Steven MacLeod who rejoins the club after a lengthy absence.

Saints kicked off attacking the railway end but it was the visitors who looked hungrier giving the home side no time on the ball. Martin McComish's late challenge on Ally McKerracher gave Willie Gemmell an early chance to put the ball in the danger area but Willie's delivery was too long for Craig Campbell at the far post. McComish tested the patience of Referee Peter Laing again in the second minute with another heavy challenge on McKerracher with Mr Laing happy just to have a quiet word with McComish. Cameron Harkins tried his luck from thirty six yards after Keith Millar had chopped down Ryan Halpin but the St Joe's defender sent his effort high and wide of target.

Harkins was heavily involved in the seventh minute racing forward on the left and delivering a dangerous ball into the box which Willie Gemmell did well to cut out at the expense of a corner kick. Graham Douglas punched the Harkins out-swinger from the left out for a throw-in on the opposite flank. Saints switched off completely at the throw allowing Ally Graham to send a low ball across the face of goal, just out of reach for Ryan Halpin but invitingly for Harkins racing in at the back post. Fortunately for Saints the angle proved too tight for left peg of Harkins with his first time effort flying over the junction of post and crossbar.

Saints had the first effort on target in the ninth minute from the head of David McPhee. McPhee's central defensive partner Craig Campbell won an important interception midway inside the Saints half and launched the ball forward for Paul Carmichael who won a corner kick on the right. David McPhee beat Ryan Halpin to Willie Gemmell's delivery but his effort was straight at Sean Gibbons who made a comfortable save.

A fantastic block by Fraser Murray prevented Ally McKerracher from testing the keeper in the fifteenth minute after a good move on the right involving Matthew Kelly and Paul Carmichael. The same three linked up again three minutes later with McKerracher this time claiming that his shot was blocked by the hand of Kearn Docherty but Mr Laing dismissed the Saints appeals for a penalty kick.

Daniel McKenna clipped a decent effort over the crossbar before St Joseph's new signing from local rivals Goldenhill opened the scoring for the visitors. From a harmless looking ball from Craig Cameron deep inside his own half the Saints rearguard was opened up far too easily with McKenna running through to slot the ball past the hopelessly exposed Graham Douglas.

Saints launched an immediate response with Paul Carmichael beating Craig Cameron and Kieran O'Brien on the left and sending over a left foot cross from the bye-line which Sean Gibbons at full stretch prevented from reaching Ally McKerracher at the back post.

Referee Laing drew the ire of the Saints bench for an extremely tight offside call against Paul Carmichael in the twenty sixth minute before tame shot from Ally McKerracher sixty seconds later slipped harmlessly wide of target.

Graham Douglas came to the rescue in the twenty ninth minute throwing himself to his right to tip a Ryan Halpin shot round the post for a corner kick. Craig Campbell headed the delivery from Cameron Harkins to edge of the box from where the waiting Craig Cameron sent a shot wide. Before the restart Daniel Croarkin, who was suffering from stomach cramps, was replaced by Myles McAuley making his first appearance of the season. Myles took up a position on the left of the midfield diamond with Scott Maitland dropping back to fill the left-back role vacated by Croarkin.

A Craig Cameron foul on Craig MacEwan gave Willie Gemmell another dead ball opportunity but he failed to trouble Sean Gibbons from thirty yards as the visitors continued to hold the upper hand.

A better spell from Saints saw Sean Gibbons produce an excellent save at his near post to deny Craig MacEwan after Myles McAuley had flicked on a Paul Carmichael cross from the right.

From the goalkeeper's clearance St Joseph's immediately launched a counter-attack where Daniel McKenna somehow managed to hit the underside of the crossbar from four yards after Ryan Halpin's run and low cross from the left.

After surviving this scare Saints threatened again in the thirty eighth minute. From deep inside his own half on the left Myles McAuley linked up well with Craig MacEwan to send Ally McKerracher tearing towards the bye-line. Ally outpaced Craig Cameron to fire in a left foot cross which was inches beyond the outstretched boot of Paul Carmichael racing in at the far post.

Carmichael did connect with a McKerracher pass sixty seconds later but his shot from twenty yards was comfortably held by Sean Gibbons.

With five first half minutes remaining Saints Captain Craig MacEwan superbly chested down a high ball just inside the left touchline and was hauled back by his well beaten opposite number Craig Cameron. To the amazement of both sets of players Mr Laing penalised MacEwan for handball with the protests from the irate Saints players continuing for several minutes. Paul Carmichael's frustrations eventually boiled over in tine added on for stoppages earning him the first of Mr Laing's six yellow cards.

The second half began in disastrous fashion for Saints conceding a second goal just two minutes after the restart. Paul Carmichael won a free-kick on the edge of the St Joe's box which Cameron Harkins saw out for a goal kick. From Sean Gibbons' goal kick Harkins raced to the other end and delivered a cross from the left wing which Daniel McKenna headed back across goal for Ryan Halpin to dive in and head past Graham Douglas.

Sean Gibbons cut out a Willie Gemmell cross intended for Paul Carmichael before Graham Douglas matched the feat at the other end intercepting a Cameron Harkins cross at his near post ahead of Ryan Halpin.

Paul Carmichael's perseverance on the edge of the D created an opening for Craig MacEwan with the Saints skipper drawing a smart save from Sean Gibbons at his near post. Saints attempted to keep up the pressure from the resulting corner kick with Willie Gemmell's delivery from the left headed behind by Ryan Halpin for a second corner from the right which Sean Gibbons held under pressure from Craig MacEwan.

Saints hauled themselves back into contention in the fifty sixth minute when Craig MacEwan controlled a Willie Gemmell long ball wide on the right and picked out Paul Carmichael sliding in at the back post to poke the ball past Sean Gibbons.

The visitors almost immediately restored their two goal advantage with only the outstretched left foot of Graham Douglas denying Daniel McKenna from the restart.

On the hour mark St Joe's made their first change bringing on Connor Forrester to replace Cameron Harkins on the left. Forrester's first involvement was to flight over a free-kick after Craig Campbell had clipped Ryan Halpin's heels on the corner of the Saints box. Forrester's dangerous delivery was hooked clear by Scott Maitland at the back post.

Scott was involved at the other end firing wide at the end of swift counter attack involving Myles McAuley and Craig MacEwan after Paul Carmichael had tracked back and dispossessed a marauding run by Craig Cameron.

Ryan Halpin made way for Dominic O'Neill for the final twenty minutes at the start of which Ally Graham picked up a yellow card for a foul on Myles McAuley with the Saints man joining him in the book for a spot of afters. Saints also made a switch at this point with Fraser MacFarlane coming on in favour of the only partially fit Paul Carmichael.

With fifteen minutes remaining Ally McKerracher, who still looks a little short of full fitness, was replaced by Steven MacLeod but not before he became the fourth name in Mr Laing's notebook after coming off second best in a 50/50 with St Joe's goalkeeper Sean Gibbons. The change of personnel also brought another positional switch with Matthew Kelly moving into midfield and Steven MacLeod taking Matthew's right-back berth.

In his new advanced role Kelly had a big hand in Saints eightieth minute equaliser. Linking up well with Scott Maitland on the left, Kelly forced his way to the edge of the St Joe's box. The ball broke to Craig MacEwan in the box who produced an exquisite turn to escape the attentions of Craig Cameron and Fraser Murray and stroked the ball into the bottom corner past the left hand of Sean Gibbons.

St Joe's responded immediately with a shot across the face of goal from Dominic O'Neill which deflected wide for a corner. Keith Millar headed Daniel McKenna's corner kick clear but Saints couldn't make any headway and conceded a free-kick midway inside their own half. Graham Douglas came through a ruck of players to punch Connor Forrester's free-kick away however the ball fell kindly for Martin McComish who returned it with interest drawing another excellent save from the Saints number one diving full length to his right to tip the ball round the post. Craig Campbell headed the resulting corner kick clear as the under pressure Saints rearguard held firm.

St Joe's made an eighty third minute change with Stephen Dallas replacing Ally Graham in attack before Mr Laing made another controversial decision which this time benefited the home side. Keith Millar and Stephen Dallas had a coming together in the Saints box and, much to the relief of all in navy blue, the decision which could have gone either way was given in Millar's favour.

The sense of relief for Saints unfortunately evaporated after eighty eight minutes when Scott Smith was given too much time and space to carry the ball from midfield into the Saints box. The combined efforts of David McPhee and Steven MacLeod couldn't stop Smith from getting a left foot shot away which squirmed under the advancing Graham Douglas and nestled in the bottom corner much to the delight of the St Joe's contingent.

The visitors attempts to wind down the clock were brought into check by Mr Laing who brandished a yellow card in the direction of Martin McComish for time wasting before St Joe's made their final change replacing goalscorer Scott Smith with Gary McGroarty.

Mr Laing allowed a full five minutes of stoppage time, during which time he booked Steven MacLeod for a push on Dominic O'Neill, but try as they might Saints were unable to threaten the St Joe's goal giving the visitors the full three points and a happy bus journey back to Duntocher.

Next up for Saints is a visit from Cambusnethan Talbot of the Strathclyde Saturday Morning Amateur Football League in the West of Scotland Cup.

Visit From The Champions

Saturday 9th September 2017
Scottish Amateur Football League Premier Division
Oban Saints AFC v St Joseph's FP AFC
Glencruitten 2
Mossfield Avenue
Oban
Argyll
PA34 4EH
Kick Off 2pm
Referee Mr Peter Laing

After safely negotiating the first round of the Scottish Amateur Cup with a reasonably comfortable home win over Mauchline United, Saints face their biggest test of the season so far this Saturday when they welcome reigning Scottish Amateur Football League Premier Division Champions and Centenary Cup holders St Joseph's FP to Glencruitten.

The league and cup double was a just reward for St Joe's who enjoyed an excellent season including extended runs in the major cup competitions. Only eventual losing finalists Colville Park could halt St Joe's progress in the West of Scotland Amateur Cup. It was a remarkably similar story in the Scottish Amateur Cup when eventual runners-up in the Scottish Amateur game's blue riband event, Southside, edged out St Joe's after a sixth round replay.

Old rivals St Joseph's FP are unbeaten on their last five trips to Glencruitten including four victories. In last season's encounter Saints were brought crashing back to earth after their Scottish Amateur Cup seventh round replay win against Letham when the Duntocher men racked up their third consecutive victory on Saints territory. Goals from Scott Smith, Martin McComish and Dominic O'Neill secured the points for the visitors effectively ending any faint hopes Saints may have had of halting St Joe's march to a second league crown in three seasons.

Saints gained some degree of revenge against the league champions in their final match of last season at William Street, Duntocher.

A goal behind at the interval thanks to Gregor Cree's twenty ninth minute opener, Saints fell further behind four minutes into the second half when Ryan Halpin robbed Graham Douglas on the edge of this box to roll the ball into the unguarded net.

Saints hauled themselves back into the match in spectacular fashion in the fifty eighth minute from a sweetly struck Scott Maitland thirty yard effort which arrowed into the roof of the net giving Sean Gibbons no chance.

It was very much game-on in the sixty second minute when a neatly threaded David McArthur pass picked out Donald Campbell's run from midfield. With the home defence caught square Donald raced through the middle and passed the ball precisely into the bottom corner past the left hand of Sean Gibbons.

Saints completed the turnaround in the sixty seventh minute from another Graham Douglas clearance. Craig MacEwan held off the attentions of Craig Cameron on the Saints left and played the ball infield to Donald Campbell. Donald's perfectly weighted pass sat up invitingly for Brian Mackay to stroke the ball into the bottom corner just out of reach of the advancing Sean Gibbons.

Mackay netted his second and Saints fourth goal of the evening with Craig MacEwan and Willie Gemmell again both heavily involved in the build-up. Willie's eighty eighth minute ball up the left for Craig MacEwan saw Saints top scorer turn provider tricking his way past Kearn Docherty and clipping the ball over Sean Gibbons and Martin McComish in the six yard box for Brian Mackay to side foot home at the back post.

The win was enough to secure the Scottish Amateur Football League Premier Division runners-up spot for Saints ahead of St Joe's local rivals Goldenhill.

Two time beaten semi-finalists Oban Saints returned to the Scottish Amateur Cup trail last Saturday when they hosted Mauchline United in a first round tie at Glencruitten. Mauchline of the Ayrshire Amateur Football Association First Division versus Scottish Amateur Football League Premier Division Oban Saints was one of twenty nine first round ties played across four regions with the remaining four hundred and eighty three entrants receiving byes.

Saints starting line-up:-

Used substitutes:-

Jay Cooper
Bartosz Faron
Ruaridh Horne
Craig MacMillan

Manager Alex Craik stuck closely to the line-up which had earned Saints their first league points of the season at East Kilbride this previous week but with three enforced changes. Graham Douglas returned in goal with Craig Campbell replacing Dalmally Show bound David McPhee in central defence. Craig lined up alongside the Gaffer with Matthew Kelly and Daniel Croarkin once again filling the fullback berths. Holiday maker Scott Maitland dropped out of the midfield and was replaced by new signing Ally McKerracher who lined up just in front of holding midfielders Willie Gemmell and Keith Millar. Their was no changes to the forward line with Shaun MacIver spearheading the attack flanked by Fraser MacFarlane and Skipper Craig MacEwan. On the bench were Jay Cooper and three more new signings Bartosz Faron, Ruaridh Horne and Craig MacMillan.

Visitors Mauchline United, whose small but vocal support were enjoying the Oban sunshine, kicked off attacking the Mossfield end however it was Saints who were first to threaten. Willie Gemmell sent a free-kick from just inside the Mauchline half and wide on the right into the Mauchline box for Ally McKerracher. Ally, who returns to the club after a thirty two month absence, flicked on Willie's free-kick to Craig MacEwan who drove to the bye-line but couldn't get the better of Mauchline right back Ryan O'Donnell who saw the danger out.

Shaun MacIver's perseverance forced John Rutherford into a hurried clearance in the fifth minute which didn't find touch and was quickly latched onto by Craig MacEwan. Craig's cross from the left found Ally McKerracher at the back post whose shot from nine yards was blocked by left-back Steven Leitch. The visitors couldn't fully clear their lines and from a Fraser MacFarlane corner kick from the left Craig Campbell climbed above Alisdair Murray but couldn't generate enough power in his header which looped into the gloves of Andrew Clark in the Mauchline goal.

The early pressure bore fruit for Saints in the seventh minute when Shaun MacIver burst through on the end of a Craig MacEwan pass to fire the ball into the roof of the net from eighteen yards after good work in midfield from Keith Millar and Ally McKerracher.

McKerracher almost made it two sixty seconds later cutting in from the right and flashing a low shot across the face of goal and narrowly wide of  Andrew Clark's right hand post.

A David Howat trip on Daniel Croarkin gave Willie Gemmell another dead ball opportunity from which he was fractionally too heavy with a clever ball to the back post for Keith Millar's late run.

A heavy challenge on Matthew Kelly on the half-way line by John Rutherford earned the Mauchline defender a stern talking to from Central Scottish Amateur Football League Referee Anthony McCann as the visitors battled to get a foothold in the game.

A sloppy five minute spell from Saints gave Mauchline increased confidence and almost cost the home side the lead. In the twentieth minute David Howat made a terrific run up the right wing and fizzed a low cross along the six yard line inches away from Skipper Liam O'Donnell.

Saints capitalised fully on this let-off with O'Donnell's opposite number Craig MacEwan rounding off an excellent move for the first of his three goals of the afternoon. MacEwan sent Fraser MacFarlane scurrying forward on the right but, with his path blocked by Steven Leitch, the Saints wide man turned back inside and laid the ball back to Keith Millar. Millar kept the ball moving across to the left for Daniel Croarkin who in turn picked out Ally McKerracher. McKerracher split Ryan O'Donnell and Campbell Thomson with a perfectly weighted pass through the inside left channel for Craig MacEwan who slotted past Andrew Clark from eight yards beating the Mauchline keeper at his near post.

A late challenge through the back of Craig Campbell earned Liam O'Donnell a talking to from Mr McCann before John Rutherford became the first name in the Referee's notebook for whipping Ally McKerracher's legs away on the edge of the centre circle. From the resulting free-kick Willie Gemmell found Craig MacEwan who brought the ball down and laid back to Shaun MacIver for a left foot volley which Andrew Clark did well to hold diving high to his left.

Fraser MacFarlane came the width of the post away from increasing Saints lead in the twenty ninth minute. Ally McKerracher hurdled three challenges before picking out Fraser MacFarlane coming in from the right. Fraser's shot beat Andrew Clark low down to his left but struck the outside of the near post and flew behind for a goal kick.

McKerracher and MacFarlane combined again sixty seconds later with McKerracher hitting the bye-line and cutting back for MacIver who had the ball taken off his toes by a timely interception from John Rutherford.

McKerracher's direct running continued to pose problems for the Mauchline defence with Andrew Clark having to come quickly off his line to smother at the Saints man's feet in the thirty second minute.

With experienced duo Willie Gemmell and Keith Millar rolling back the years and pulling the strings in midfield Saints continued to push forward looking to kill the tie off before the half-time whistle. Daniel Croarkin linked up with Craig MacEwan on the left who turned inside and sent an excellent diagonal ball into the box for Ally McKerracher to fire inches wide of the keeper's left hand post.

Another driving run from McKerracher in the forty first minute saw the Saints midfielder delicately lift the ball over the advancing Andrew Clark but unfortunately also just over the crossbar.

At the other end the visitors gave Saints a reminder of their threat on the break when Liam O'Donnell made a smart turn away from Craig Campbell on the eighteen yard line and sent a low shot inches wide of the right hand post of Saints keeper Graham Douglas.

Despite their domination the much hoped for Saints third goal wouldn't come with the ebullient McKerracher missing two further half chances. With John Rutherford attempting to pull him back McKerracher burst through the middle and drew an excellent save from Andrew Clark throwing himself to his left to turn the ball behind for a corner kick. Fraser MacFarlane's delivery was knocked back out to him on the right with his second ball finding the outstretched boot of McKerracher who, under pressure from Campbell Thomson, sent the ball wide of Andrew Clark's right hand post.

On the stroke of half-time Mr McCann flashed the second yellow card of the afternoon in the direction of Liam O'Donnell for another late challenge on Craig Campbell before signalling the halfway point in proceedings.

Saints began the second half still very much on the front foot with Ally McKerracher winning a free kick thirty two yards out which Willie Gemmell scuffed wide of Andrew Clark's right hand post.

The visitors showed they couldn't be discounted as an attacking force when Liam O'Donnell got in behind the Saints defence on the right in the forty seventh minute and flashed a drive across Graham Douglas and inches wide of the far post.

Keith Millar joined the attack after five second half minutes feeding Fraser MacFarlane but not receiving the return pass he had hoped for as Fraser pushed into the box himself before over running the ball and allowing Campbell Thomson to make the interception.

Greg Mason became the third Mauchline player to fall foul of Referee Anthony McCann, who had a faultless afternoon, for pulling back Ally McKerracher in the fifty second minute.

Keith Millar sent Fraser MacFarlane in behind the Mauchline back four with a well measured pass in the fifty fourth minute from where the Saints wide man showed good composure to square the ball to the unmarked Craig MacEwan who, with the keeper left stranded, gratefully rolled the ball into the unguarded net for Saints third goal.

Only a terrific sliding interception by John Rutherford on Ally McKerracher denied Saints a quick fire fourth when Ally once again drove at the heart of the Mauchline defence from the restart.

A good ball over the top by Greg Mason looking for Liam O'Donnell was well cut out by Alex Craik who quickly turned defence into attack playing the ball up to Shaun MacIver who was just too heavy with his pass into the box looking for the run of Craig MacEwan.

The Gaffer, who together with Craig Campbell formed a solid partnership at the heart of the Saints defence, made another important interception in the sixty first minute to cut out David Howat's cross from the right intended for Liam O'Donnell. From the resulting corner kick Craik won the header at the expense of a throw-in on the left. The Saints defence momentarily switched off and were relieved to see Campbell Thomson slice a free shot wide of target.

Presentable chances for MacEwan, MacFarlane, MacIver and McKerracher all came and went before Manager Alex Craik signaled to the bench to ready the first changes in the seventy second minute. Daniel Croarkin, who had picked up an ankle injury, and Ally McKerracher made way for new signings Craig MacMillan and Ruaridh Horne. The replacements took up the fullback berths with Matthew Kelly moving into midfield to take up the position vacated by McKerracher.

With fifteen minutes remaining a sublime piece of trickery by Craig MacEwan on the bye-line took out Mauchline keeper Andrew Clark. Unfortunately it also caught Shaun MacIver on the back foot and the big striker was fractionally too slow to reach Craig's ball from an acute angle allowing John Rutherford to get back and make the block at the back post.

MacIver was on his toes three minutes later bursting into the box where Andrew Clark sent him tumbling for a penalty kick. Mr McCann showed Clark the yellow card before Craig MacEwan hit the outside of the post from twelve yards after sending Clark in the wrong direction.

Shaun MacIver and Fraser MacFarlane linked up well in the eighty first minute when Shaun picked out Fraser with a cross from the right for a spectacular bicycle kick which Andrew Clark saved well to his left.

That proved to be the last involvement for the pair who made way for Jay Cooper and, another new signing, Bartosz Faron from the Czech Republic.

Despite a dominant performance Saints didn't have things all their own way and were indebted to Craig Campbell for a double block on Liam O'Donnell and Darren McGill in the eighty third minute.

In the eighty ninth minute Willie Gemmell picked out Craig MacEwan with a free-kick from the centre circle which Craig chested down wide on the right and cut into the box before shooting straight at Andrew Clark.

Just sixty seconds later the pair repeated the trick with Craig this time finding the end product to match the build-up. John Rutherford was penalised for a heavy challenge on Jay Cooper with Referee Mr McCann resisting the temptation to issue a second yellow card. Willie Gemmell expertly lifted the free-kick into the box for Craig MacEwan who turned away from Ryan O'Donnell and Steven Leitch and, from six yards, slotted past Andrew Clark to round off the scoring and clinch his hat-trick.

Totally out of keeping with what had been a good natured match, tempers were ignited by a badly mistimed challenge by young Craig MacMillan on Stuart Hall in the fourth minute of added time. Mr McCann quickly restored order and showed a yellow card to Willie Gemmell for his part in the aftermath. MacMillan blocked the resulting free-kick behind for a corner kick which Ruaridh Horne headed clear before Mr McCann decided he had seen enough and blew for full time.

Saints Manager Alex Craik will be delighted by the progress made by in side in the last two games and more especially with the clean sheet. A sterner test awaits Saints in their next fixture where they welcome reigning Scottish Amateur Football League Premier Division Champions St Joseph's F.P. to Glencruitten.
