Second Round Tie
Oban Saints AFC v Bishopton FC WALKOVER TO SAINTS
Glencruitten 2
Mossfield Avenue
Oban
Argyll
PA34 4EH
Kick off 2pm
Referee Mr Kevin Nolan
This afternoon's Scottish Amateur Cup second round tie has been cancelled extending Saints run of fixture-less Saturdays to four which is already one more than the brief summer close season. This Saturday's scheduled opponents Bishopton of the Glasgow and District Saturday Morning League Premier Division have been unable to raise a team for the trip to Oban and have consequently conceded the tie. Frustrating as this is for Saints it is perhaps understandable that players with a Saturday morning club will have other commitments on a Saturday afternoon that simply cannot be changed to accommodate a day trip to the West Highlands. Saints therefore progress to the third round of the Scottish Amateur Cup and extend the usual good wishes to Bishopton for the rest of the season.
Bishopton's recent Glasgow and District Saturday Morning League record:-
2011-12 Division One 9th Relegated
2012-13 Division Two 5th
2013-14 Division Two Champions Promoted and John Rae Trophy Winners
2014-15 Division One 5th
2015-16 Division One 2nd Promoted and John Rae Trophy Runners Up
